What this is

Phantom is infrastructure so that human thought belongs to whoever thinks it.

Write something. Seal it. From that moment, it exists permanently, verifiably yours, on no server but your own device. Anyone can confirm it is unchanged. No one can alter it without breaking the seal.

If she cannot use it — it is not Phantom.

There is a woman in Lagos. She has a secondhand Android phone, three children, and a small shop. She learned to self-censor without anyone explicitly asking her to. Phantom exists for her. Not as metaphor. As design criterion.

How it works

Every seal is a SHA-256 hash over a fixed JSON format: your idea and the exact moment you sealed it. No server computes it. No authority signs it. The math proves it.

The format is permanent: {"idea":"...","moment":"..."} — no spaces after colons. Changing this breaks verification of every seal that came before. The format is the seal.

Anyone can verify. Any device. Without installing anything. Without trusting anyone. The woman in Lagos with a secondhand phone can verify a seal. That is the requirement.
